Former Southern Stars all rounder Sarah Coyte has coming out of retirement to play in the last round of the @WBBL for the Sydney Sixers

TNF- Why the comeback Sarah?

SC-  It’s not a comeback necessarily - I was just presented with an opportunity to help the Sixers girls out for a few games and wanted to see how much stronger my mind has gotten over the last year and if I still have the ability to play at a high level.

TNF- How did all of this come about?

SC- Ben Sawyer gave me a call out of the blue after noticing I played a grade game for Penrith. He asked if I’d be interested in playing the last round and we took it from there.

TNF- What have you been doing in your short lived retirement from cricket?

SC- I’m currently working as a School Learning Support Officer at a Juvenile Justice Detention Centre. I do that full time and I also coach Crossfit and compete locally as well.

TNF- What Training have you been doing yo get into shape for the comeback?

SC- I’ve been training all Crossfit. A huge focus has been on increasing my strength while maintaining my metabolic conditioning. Physically I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in. I’ve joine the Sixers girls for three sessions now and had a decent bowl and hit so I’m feeling somewhat confident leading in to my first game back.

TNF- You have been back playing some grade cricket of late, has it been enjoyable?

SC- Grade cricket has been the reason for my call up. I’ve played a few games here and there - mostly the t20 component. One day games are far to long for my liking now!
